Paul Sating has a persistent question that follows his paranormal plots: what defines a monster, or, who truly is the monster? After reading Chasing the Demon, I was excited to read The Scales—and I was not disappointed. The story challenges our first reactions to terrifying discoveries. While a town rushes off to face something of horror, other voices try to encourage respect toward it by offering another side to a creature that’s surfaced. This creates an intriguing trail of information that results in an absolute page-turner. I loved reading this book so much!

Fantastic ! It's got a monster, a strong female lead character, mysterious government agents and a big surprise ending.
Had me hooked from the start. I give it 5 out of 5 big scary monsters !

Man do I love this book. I may be biased because I already love the way Paul writes AND I love monster stories but this one sure is great. I don't know how many times I had to force myself to stop reading so that I didn't end up late for work. Highly recommend!
