Happy New Year Message

Happy New Year, epic peeps!

Wow, was 2025 a year, or was it a year? The less said about it, the better, imho. I hope each of yours was far better than mine.

But enough of that. It's behind us now, and I'm looking forward.

Besides the miserable luck and the 5-month-long wildfire, I did something I was very serious about doing... I finished the things I've started. Committing to The Zodiac, I finished the series! Yes, the last book is with my epic editor, Louis, but when it comes back, a little bit of work and it'll up put up for pre-order. I can't tell you how good it feels to have that albatross off my neck. Not that I don't love Zeke and the gang (I do), but my creativity comes from trying and doing different things. No big shock to any of you here. You see everything I try. To stay in the same world and characters for this long has been a challenge on a personal and creative level. I'm very pleased with how it turned out, and I can't wait to get it out to the world. Like always, with my series, it was hard to say goodbye. You can pre-order Capricorn's Midnight Clock (book 10) & Ascension of Aquarius (book 11) by clicking those links.

So what did I do with the new-found space in my brain cavity? I went and made the decision to finish the Rev Carver series at four books. I'm 50,000 words into Angel's Tribulation (the working title of the last book), and loving how it's going. I've missed Rev. For those of you who are curious how this book biz works or why I'd end Rev so soon; the fact is that supernatural suspense/urban fantasy doesn't really sell unless you were one of the first Indies in the space or you're actually writing romance and disguise it as UF by including magic and familiars, et al. Honestly, at this point of my career, I'm not interested in killing myself to put out tons of books in a genre only a handful of people read or are even looking for (if you only knew how little profit I make on these after all my advertising spend).

So, what's my future hold?

Lots of things I'm excited about. I've still got some personal hurdles to clear, but that will happen early in the year. After that, we'll see.

If things go well for me, the plan for 2026 is to release the last 3 Zodiac books and the last Rev Carver book. I'll also be jumping back into LitRPG with my cozy sports progression series, Mat Masters. But, going against everything I've ever said, as soon as I'm done with Angel's Tribulation, I'll be starting on a new horror book.

Yes, yes. I know. I was "never" going back to horror. But one day while walking my dogs, I was struck with a horror theme that was so strong it grabbed me around the throat and demanded I pay attention. So I did. I've already got a good skeleton outline (that still needs some TLC), a kick-ass title, and a cover concept. It's a story that won't stop demanding attention. So I'll be jumping on that as soon as possible. (Especially since I have to write it during the winter to draw on the 'right feel' for the story.)

Lastly, I have another LitRPG idea ROUGHLY outlined. If the year starts smoothly, I'll look at starting in on that. Maybe in the summer/fall.

I wanted to take this last bit to THANK YOU for being a Patron (if you are), being interested in my stuff, supporting me, encouraging me, and being there when the silence was overwhelming. You're truly epic people.

I hope your year ends on a high and starts with a bang. Be safe. Live and love, fully. And, as always, keep being epic!

Cheers,

Paul
